Fistfight City Saviors is an expansive tabletop card game/RPG paying homage to classic beat-em-up games of the 80s and 90s. Battle through the warring factions of Fistfight City to be the first to save the day!
Q: So how does it play?
A deckbuilder with a twist!
Fistfight City Saviors is a fast-paced deckbuilding RPG where you and your friends compete to see who can be the first to topple a powerful Kingpin boss enemy. While the game is a deckbuilder, you don’t build your deck before the game starts. You build as you play! Every turn you’ll battle foes, buy new moves and gear, and slowly build up your power until you’re strong enough to save the city. With all the enemies, moves and gear coming out of massive communal decks, not to mention the massive roster of playable characters with their own special moves and passive abilities, every game promises to be a very different experience.
Q: What’s the plot of this thing?
We join a story already in progress…
The rowdy, beachside paradise of Fistfight City is slowly falling under the thumb of a mysterious mafioso known only as The Don. With the police on the take and The Don’s goons roaming the streets, it falls on a loose collective of local street gangs to unite for the greater good and save their home.
Q: Can I see some cards?
Sure!
You play as one of these…
And fight some of these…
With moves like these…
And cool gear like this!
Q: How much of this is done?
Quite a bit!
A printed prototype of this exists and is ready for playtesting! The current build has 20 playable characters, 40 unique enemies, 58 unique moves and 60 unique gear cards! It’s pretty big!
Q: So what does it need?
Playtesting and art, art, art!
This is easily my largest project, so getting a prototype printed was just the first step! It’s going to need lots of playtesting for balance and mechanical changes, and it’s also going to need quite a bit of art. If you were keeping count above, that’s 178 unique cards and they currently all need art! Not to mention, this game could do with a more professional logo and design pass on the card layouts themselves.
Q: How can I help?
Give me money!
But seriously, this is such a giant project that it’s doubtful it’s going to be the first one I get fully published. The best way you can support Fistfight City Saviors right now is to support my other projects. Fistfight City Saviors is my “Big Dream” but I’ve got many more projects in need of a boost!
